HAVELSAN, the Ankara-based flight simulator manufacturer, will deliver two additional Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulators to Turkish Airlines, expanding the long-term cooperation between the two organisations that began in 2018.
Once the two additional devices are delivered, Turkish Airlines will operate five HAVELSAN-manufactured Boeing 737 MAX full flight simulators under its Vision 2033 strategy. The airline currently operates two HAVELSAN B737 MAX full flight simulators, while a third simulator has recently completed the EASA certification stage.
The cooperation between HAVELSAN and Turkish Airlines extends beyond the supply of individual training devices. Since 2023, the two organisations have also operated a joint flight training centre in Ankara, providing additional simulator capacity and supporting the development of Türkiye’s domestic pilot training infrastructure.
HAVELSAN has invested in Boeing 737 MAX-specific pilot training technologies to support airlines introducing and expanding operations with Boeing’s latest-generation narrowbody aircraft. The additional simulators will form part of HAVELSAN’s STARLINE full flight simulator portfolio and will be supported through the company’s engineering, maintenance and after-sales capabilities.
The new order comes as HAVELSAN prepares to expand its simulator manufacturing capacity. In March 2026, the company broke ground on a new 17,000-square-metre Simulator Production and Integration Facility in Ankara.
The facility is scheduled to enter service in 2027 and will enable HAVELSAN to produce more than 30 simulators annually and support the simultaneous development and integration of up to 16 devices.
Together with HAVELSAN’s existing Ankara infrastructure, the company expects to have capacity for up to 40 commercial and military simulators at different stages of development, production and integration.
As Turkish Airlines continues its fleet expansion and growth, HAVELSAN’s role in supporting the airline’s training infrastructure adds to the role of domestic simulator manufacturing capabilities within Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem.
